We prioritize a collaborative organizational culture, and are a partner of choice for artists, arts organizations, and arts allies in our community.

Education is a priority for us over the next few years. This includes bringing back initiatives such as The National Opera Intensive, as well as creating new educational programming in partnership with the opera outreach collective Opera InReach.

Make opera and vocal works more accessible and affordable for diverse audiences.
At Against the Grain Theatre, we strive to keep our productions as accessible as possible. This includes offering tickets free of charge and quality digital programming that can be enjoyed by audiences across Canada and beyond.
Opera Pub, one of our staple projects, presents opera in a more casual setting, where audience members are encouraged to let loose and get rowdy. For our 2022/2023 season, we will be presenting Opera Pub in 3 cities across Canada: Vancouver, Edmonton, and Toronto.
